Study of Factors Affecting Investment and Ways of Securing Liquidity:Case Study of Rural Cooperatives in Fars Province

Abstract

With sequence to role of cash flow in agriculture, the object of the study is to recognize factors affecting investment and ways of securing liquidity in rural cooperatives. Data were collected from a sample of 32 cooperatives, 15 rural cooperatives manager and 152 member of rural cooperative in Fars province. Results of the study reveled that access to cash played a major role in investment behavior of cooperatives. In addition, other factors such as marginal profitability, scale and debt-capital ratio affecting on decision to invest. Also, results indicated that only 33 percent of cooperatives manager had suitable finance managerial ability. Finally, ways of securing liquidity in rural cooperatives were suggested
