The main purpose of this study was to analyze economic effects of globalization on pollution diffusion. To do this, the openness index which defined as proportion of trade to gross domestic product was used. Pollution includes diffusion of carbon dioxide. Period of This study was from 1980 to2008. In order to analyze relationship between pollution diffusion and economic openness, self explained vector approach was used. Results showed that there was a long-term relationship between pollution diffusion and other variables and increase in economy openness rate and capital accumulation would increase pollution. But effects of gross domestic product on pollution were evaluated negatively in Iran. Final results of prediction error variance of pollution diffusion analysis also showed that share of proportion of pollution diffusion variable would fade away after 20 years and major role (about 62 percent) was related to investment-labor ratio. Furthermore, about one fourth of rediction error was attributed to economy openness.
