Abstract

Due to successive droughts in the Sistan region and also the non-obligation of the Hirmand surface water rights by Afghanistan, many villagers in the Sistan region do not have suitable economic, social and environmental conditions and have suffered a lot of damage. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the resilience of farmers and to develop appropriate strategies to improve it in order to strengthen the population of rural settlements.

The current research is applied in terms of purpose and survey in terms of methodology. The tool of data collection is a questionnaire and the sample studied in this research consists of 330 people from the villagers of the region who were selected according to availability and were analyzed by factor analysis and hierarchical analysis.Based on the results of the factor analysis, the factors affecting the resilience of the villagers were classified into four factors: government support, management and diversity of economic activity and employment, land management and development, and management of environmental activities.
