Abstract

Today, the fast-moving global developments have led economic agents to research about supply chain management to overcome the uncertain conditions surrounding them, such that products have to be produced with best quality and lowest cost. On the other hand, poultry industry in Iran, having attracted a lot of investment (after the oil industry), has a special place in production and employment. Although few studies have been carried out on value chain but studying economic benefits of producing chains for products can offer new results in the integration of products of production units. This paper aims to compare the productivity chain poultry production units with individually operated farms.

The required data was selected from 40 sample units of financial offices of Kosar Economic Organization in 2016 to measure economic variables and was analyzed by Eviews 9 software. Also, a researcher-made questionnaire was used to measure the managerial characteristics of unit managers. The appropriate production function was then estimated and productivity of production agents in two integrated (connected) and out-of-chain (disconnected) production modes were compared. n
